The most colorful toucans of Colombia live on the high peaks of the Andes. These toucans or terlaques of the genus Andigena are characterized by having a great quantity of blue, coffee and black in their plumage; In addition, its infra-flow coverings are red and its parson's nose is yellow. The blue-collar terlaque differs from other related species because it is the only one that presents the white throat. It is a species of the humid mountain forests; in Colombia lives in the three mountain ranges, between 1200 and 3200m.
