It is a little known and studied bird, better known for its song that indicates its presence. It is located in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, in the "Serranía de Perija" and in the 3 mountain ranges, preferring the underbrush and soil at the edges of humid mountain forest, especially in flooded areas and near streams.
