Myioborus ornatus
Myioborus ornatus
This species is found in the three mountain ranges at high elevations between 2400 and 3400 m. This bird is conspicuous, actively and constantly opens the tail in fan and opens the wings to ward off insects that trap in aerial persecutions.
Its name means flies ornate devourer. Myioborus is derived from the Greek muia = fly and boros = devourer. Its epithet ornatus is derived from Latin and means ornate.
