Scarlet-bellied mountain tanager
The "clarinero" is one of the most attractive species of the Andean forests. It is the only bird in its habitat that combines the colors red, black and blue in its plumage. It is frequent to see clarineros moving with a fast and undulating flight, showing the scarlet flash of the abdomen and the azure blue glitter of the rump and wings. To make matters worse, these birds usually go in pairs or groups, so that it is easy to enjoy the spectacle of several clarineros adorning the discreet scrub high mountain
